14th EDITION OF NINTH LESSONS AND CAROLS OBSERVED IN KOFORIDUA

The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council, RCC in conjunction with GBC Sunrise FM with support from the Regional Security Council has organized the 14th Edition of the Nine Lessons and Carols Night Service in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital to usher in the Christmas, which commences on Saturday 25th of December.

 The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong speaking during the night noted that his ascending to the highest office in the region was confronted with environmental menace such as illegal mining however; processes are ongoing to curb the menace in the region. 

Mr. Acheampong noted that the coming of Christ Jesus to the world is to sustain peace and urged everyone to give out peace.

He urged everyone to take advantage of the vaccination month to get vaccinated and encouraged everyone to observe the COVID-19 precautionary measures in all their endeavours during the Christmas festivities.

 

Mr. Acheampong commended the security agencies and all other departments especially the health directorate for their efforts throughout the year. 

 The Head Pastor of the Calvary Congregation of the Presbyterian Church at Nsukwao, Rev. Daniel Owusu Ansah delivering the sermon on the theme “Christmas is All about Jesus” noted that Christmas is not about trees, painting of houses and family gatherings but rather the time to seek Jesus Christ. 

He noted that no dreams nor visions would be achieved in the life of every human without Jesus Christ. 

The Regional Minister Seth Acheampong read the ninth lesson while the Eastern Regional Deputy Police Commander, DCOP Anderson Fosu Akaa read the eighth lesson and the New Juaben South Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Apau-Gyasi took the turn to read the sixth lesson.


 The Eastern Regional Director of GBC Sunrise FM, Albert Nii Adjei Klu also read the third lesson.

Others who took part in reading the lessons include the Krontihene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Baffour Nyatakyi Tutu Boateng, the Regional Chief Director, Samuel Donkor, the Regional Agriculture Director,Henry Crentsil among others. 

The function was graced with music interlude from the Police and Adehyeman Band, Koforidua Youth Choir, Ascension Gospel Choir, Glorious Voices, Heavenly Choral, among others.
