AMPEDWEE COMMUNITY APPEALS FOR DRINKING WATER
Story by Michael Kofi Kenetey
The people of Ampedwee Koko Junction in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region have made a passionate appeal to the government through the Municipal Chief Executive, Margaret Darko to provide them with potable water since they have no source of drinking water in the community.
The only source of drinking water for the Ampedwee Community is a muddy stream and self-dug manhole which community members have to get to between the hours of 10:00pm and 12am before they can get water to fill their pots.
In an interview with the media during the launch of the Cool And Friends Charitable Foundation, CAF CAF, a non-governmental organization, and presentation of gifts for widows, needy, less-privileged and the orphans, the Assembly member of Subresu Electoral Area in the Suhum Municipality, Jonathan Odonkor pleaded with government and philanthropists to come to their aid and provide them with drinking water.
The Community Leader, Nana Kwasi Budu further appealed to government to provide them with school and clinic.
The mother of the founder of CAF CAF Foundation, Georgina Ama Tweneboah entreated Ghanaians to offer support to one another and also support the needy and the less-privileged in the country.
Madam Tweneboah noted that the year 2022 should be the year of giving and offer of support to the weak, the less-privileged, the needy and the have nots.
The CAF CAF Foundation is a non-governmental organization that aims to break the vicious cycle of poverty and social isolation in order to restore hope for a better future for everyone.
The foundation also believes that everyone has the right to access resources and opportunities in order to live and develop with dignity and to become an active and contributing member of the society.
