EASTERN REGION COUNCIL OF STATE REP ELECTION

Four people have filed their nominations at the Eastern Regional Office of the Electoral Commission to contest the Council of Statement membership in the region. 

The four, all males include a 60-year-old business executive, who is also the incumbent Paa Kofi Ansong, a 35-year-old teacher Ernest Mawufemor Amemakuse, a 33-year-old Librarian  Citizen Francis Tetteh and 61-year-old Mechanical Engineer, James Amanor Ossom.

The Eastern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Faith Amedzake who provided the information said that only the four filed their nominations at the close of nominations on last Thursday 4th February at 5:00pm. 

She added that the elections will be held on Friday 12th February at the Regional Coordinating Council. 

The electoral college comprise of two representatives from all the 33 districts in the region nominated by the district assemblies making up 66 delegates.

Chapter 15 Article 200 Clause 1 of the 1992 constitutions stated that there shall be a Police Service of Ghana and Clause 2 of the same Article 200 stated that the Police Service shall be equipped and maintained to perform its traditional role of maintaining law and order. FREE SHS:VISIONARY POLICY,POORLY IMPLEMENTED. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has been the first president that started the free education from the formerly elementary school getting through to the Secondary and the Technical schools to Universities. Most of the leaders we have in the country who were in the secondary school in the mid-1960s benefited from such free elementary and secondary school education. However, this education policy was overthrown together with Kwame Nkrumah government in the year 1971.
