MKD FOUNDATION DONATES TO WIDOWS

 Story by Michael Kenetey Kofi

A US/Ghana-based Non-Governmental Organization MKD Foundation has donated food items and cash to the tune of twenty five thousand Ghana cedis to some needy widows in Suhum.

The exercise dubbed, Widows Project was aimed at lessening the burden on widows who are financially incapable in taking care of their children.

In all, twenty-one needy widows benefited from the project. Items distributed included bags of rice, tins of milo, spaghetti, cooking oil, sardines, soft drinks, tomato paste, sugar and an amount of one hundred cedis to each widow.

The Fund Raising Coordinator of the Foundation, Hannah Owusu-Smith urged individuals and organisations to reach out to widows. She disclosed that the exercise will be an annual affair to draw widows closer to God.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the organisation. They noted that they never expected the organization to come to their aid and the donations came at the right time when they needed it most.
