THREE-STOREY CHURCH BUILDING COLLAPSES, CLAIMED SIX LIVES

A three-storey church building belonging to the Church of Prosperity collapsed yesterday afternoon at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region trapping some worshippers.



 According to reports, indicate that six people have so far died while seven others have been rescued. 

The report also stated that about 65 worshippers were in the building at the time of the collapse. 

The Eastern Regional Coordinator of NADMO, Kwame Appiah Kodua said when they arrived the scene, they realised that the scope of the disaster is beyond the strength of the Regional Secretariat, so they informed the National Secretariat for assistance. 



 He noted when they arrived at the venue, the local members and members from the Achiase Warfare were at the venue helping the situation.

According  to one woman who escaped the wreckage said they went to the top floor of the building to have service and came to the down floor to rest after the service when they noticed that the building is collapsing.



The collapsed building of the Church of Prosperity has so far claimed six lives at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region.
