SUHUM NDC PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE TO EMPOWER WOMEN
The National Democratic Party’s (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Suhum, Amanda Okyere Kwatia has disclosed that she will use her position to inspire youth, especially ladies who wish to take part in the decision making of the country. She said this in an interview with a GBC Sunrise FM reporter, she promised to tap into the strength and wisdom of the people to make Suhum a better place to live.
Madam Kwatia disclosed that the choice of Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman as Running Mate to Former President John Dramani Mahama, is a clear indication of the party’s belief in women empowerment.
She disclosed that she has overcome the challenge she faced with stigmatization over her gender and age and urged young ladies to follow their dreams and aspirations.
She urged stakeholders in the constituency to come on board to develop Suhum by voting for the NDC in the upcoming elections.
She said, after twenty years of winning the seat, the NPP has offered little to the people of the constituency and described the situation as hopeless for the youth. She also pledged to engage the electorate as frequent as possible, and not only when elections draw nearer.
On Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman’s visit to the constituency today as part of her tour of the Eastern Region, she said, the opportunity will be used to educate the people on the party’s 2020 Manifesto.
The NDC Running Mate will address a durbar at the Suhum Amponsah Market after paying a courtesy call on the Chief of Suhum, Osabarima Ayeh Kofi.
