The History of Algeria in African Football Algeria Football Association  Algeria National Flag Algeria Football Federation is the name of its association. Football in Algeria is the most common popular sport. The nickname of the national team is Fennec Foxes of Algeria. Algeria National Team  The country’s top domestic league is organized into two national divisions, the Algeria Ligue Professionnelle 1 and the Algerian Ligue Professionelle 2. A CALL FOR AN INDEPENDENT POLICE SERVICE IGP David Asante Apeatu By Michael Kenetey Kofi, Student of GIJ Chapter 15, Article 200 (Clause 1) of the 1992 Constitution, says that “there shall be a Police Service of Ghana”, while Clause 2 of the same Article 200 states that: “the Police Service shall be equipped and maintained to perform its traditional role of maintaining law and order”. Coming to the Ghana Police Service Act, section 1 states that: “it shall be the duty of the Police Service to detect crime, to apprehend offenders, and maintain public order and the safety of persons and property”. Perfect as this may seem, it is interesting to note that, the same constitution says the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and other top brass of the service must be appointed by the President. THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE POLICE  By Michael Kenetey Kofi, Student of GIJ. Chapter 15 Article 200 Clause 1 of the 1992 constitutions stated that there shall be a Police Service of Ghana and Clause 2 of the same Article 200 stated that the Police Service shall be equipped and maintained to perform its traditional role of maintaining law and order. In proportion to Section 1 of the Ghana Police Service Act, made provision that it shall be the duty of the Police Service to detect crime, to apprehend offenders, and maintain public order and the safety of persons and property . The police service since the gaining of Ghana's independence, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) is being appointed by the government in power.
